Blockchain Demystified

 

In his presentation Bill will explain in a pragmatic and easy to understand way what Blockchain is about, how it works, which aspects of Blockchain may be most relevant to you, and where the Blockchain evolution is going.

Most importantly, Bill will discuss Supply Chain / Logistics / Financial Industry and smart contracts use cases.

At the end of the presentation you should be able to explain blockchain technology and its benefits to your clients, friends, and business colleagues.

Bill Wagner
Professor, Villanova University

Bill Wagner has been a professor of Information Systems at Villanova University since 1991. He received his Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Kentucky in 1992. While at Villanova he has developed over 30 new IS courses, including "Enterprise Systems, " and "Mobile Application Development". He has co-authored four books and over 35 journal articles in IT-related fields such as Expert Systems and Enterprise Systems.

He most recently co-authored the book "Basics of Blockchain: A guide for building literacy in the economics, technology, and business of blockchain" with Bettina Warburg, and Tom Serres.

 

In 2004 he was identified as an "industry thought leader" by SAP. Recently (2018), he was the recipient of the Daniel J. O'Mara award for Graduate Teaching Excellence, the Meyer award (2015) for Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship and was a co-winner of the 2011 Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers' award for Excellence.
